Lighting the way with information for Customs Brokers

Broker file exchange

This module uses the BIRD file format protocol. It is designed to let you exchange information with other brokers through electronic file transfer via a modem. Files or groups of files can be instantaneously sent to or received from another broker, regardless of a broker's computer hardware and ABI software vendor. It's an easy process to learn and simple to operate

Import tracking You can enhance service to your clients by providing them with on-line access to information about their shipments. Using a modem and special passwords, an importer client may query your data files concerning their:
  • Historical and current shipment data
  • Commercial invoices and line classifications
  • Vessel arrival analysis reports
  • CF-7501 data
Consolidation/break
bulk processing
Designed to facilitate fast and accurate consolidation/break bulk processing activities, this module allows you to input pertinent data, query system databases for information about a file, and produce these documents:
  • Manifest Review Unit (MRU)
  • Permit to Transfer
  • Arrival Notice/Delivery Order
A revenue report is available that shows disbursements and revenue for all shipments in a specified time period.
Automated invoice
interface
This module accepts from shippers commercial invoice data in U.S. Customs AII format, and merges the data into your broker system database. Broker personnel can input changes to the AII data if information was missing or needs correction, or print a proforma invoice. In some cases, missing data items can even be filled in with default data from the customer file, the broker file, and with agreed upon assumptions about the shipper. A commercial invoice can also be input in its entirety by the broker.

A broker may create U.S. Customs entries from the AII data, but must fill in certain data elements (e.g., harmonized TSUSA number) that are not included (not defined) in the AII data protocol. Finally, the broker may transmit AII batch to ABI.
Landed cost Designed to make special calculations easier and automatic, the landed cost module helps you with:
  • MPF: Minimum/maximum, prorate from invoice record
  • HMF: Not required from Insular Possessions code "Y"
  • Other Charges: Permit minus amounts
  • Local Cartage: Use gross weight to prorate on line items
